This dual cover magazine is designed to have two separate topics that somehow relate to each other. I chose to cover a topic close to home, Black beauty, and black activism. In today’s society these two topics are starting to merge together as black beauty/culture are starting to be a form of activism. The two issues of my magazine are “Beauty in Color” & “Conflict in Color”.
“Beauty in Color” is marketed towards women of color between the ages of 18-30, focusing on beauty, skin, and style. This issue focused on Yara Shahidi, a young activist, model, and actress. From her favorite hair hacks, to her latest style trends, we cover the main points of a beauty magazine.
“Conflict in Color” is focused towards women of color ages 18-30 that are interested in embracing a female roll in modern day activism. The issue focuses on recent marches powered by the “Don’t Shoot” movement and other racial injustices in America.
